Commuting between Aberdeen and Manchester is a business done regularly by my boss and I know this as I do his travel booking. I can say the customer experience is bad at the airport.
The taxi services at the airport is bad. All these has strong support that the Aberdeen Airport is experiencing much of incoming passenger traffic and is unable to handle the crowd. This is evident in the summer season and the security experiences also a big trouble with people in the security queue.
The problem is passengers are expected to wait at every queue such as scanning boarding pass, the security at the entrance, the scanners, the luggage and individual boarding. Another serious problem is they are often undermanned such that of 3 scanners only 2 function.
Airlines keep making announcements and with the queues and rush is forced to make constant reminders for lost passengers even at the closing time of the boarding. The baggage conveyors are at the airport entrance and the places to eat or drink are hardly very few.
Everything is in disorder, that is what I hear and consider a serious make over is a must. In fact, people miss the flights by the time they move through all these queues and process and to stay at any of the adjacent hotels means it is very pricey, but there is no choice as the hotels are very few in numbers.
